3/4 of a year

Adam hit 9 months last week, so it's time for my monthly post. I gotta say, I feel sort of great about doing these posts because he is, after all the 4th kid, so yay that we will actually have pictures of him and a monthly update. Plus I am totally smitten by him.

So anyway, I took this little guy to the doctor for his 9 month checkup. They weighed him. They said 14 lbs. 5 oz. Holy cow. That is LITTLE! I knew he was little, but that's only up a pound from his 6 month. I was surprised. I thought he would be bigger than that by now. He still wears 3-6 month clothes a lot of the time. He's probably about the size of a 5 month old.

But the kid eats! Which, may I say, is a wonderful quality in a child. My first two were picky, my second two, eaters and I love it. He is eating lots of table food lately. Right now he is sitting by me eating peas and cheese and a breadstick. The only thing he has ever not liked still is the baby food peas. Don't blame him.

So, he's little, but healthy I guess. And adorable. Don't believe me?

 Proof.

He babbles a lot and might be saying Dada. He's at that stage where it starts to seem like he might be saying it in relation to Josh but it's hard to tell. And in fact this morning he was looking right at Dal and saying Da over and over. But how knows, might just be a fluke.

He also might be waving and definitely gives his version of a high five.

I like to make his hair standy uppy after a bath. Then it stays that way till the next bath and it's funny.

He sits now (as you can see from the pics) and is using rolling to get around the room and well as sort of slithering on his belly. I did find him on his knees in his bed the other day, but that's just happened once so far.
The biggest news in his life: about a month ago he was starting to be a really fussy baby. And still very spitty. One day at church he spit up about 20 times to the point that he was covered in it and both of the blanket we brought were soaking. It seemed not normal to me. He had eaten Banana Orange Medley that morning so I started to wonder if that cause him a problem and stopped feeding it to him. Miraculous. Way less spitting, much happier baby. Then I discovered that peaches and apricots were also culprits. I am telling you, it's like we have a new kid! Poor guy must have been having some serious heart burn or something.

He's got two teeth and he wants to show you:

I love him, I love him, I love him!!!

Karate Kids

For a long time my boys have wanted to try karate and we have never let them. It is hard to want to sign up for karate because of the open endedness (no set beginning and end like a soccer season) of it and because the cost is high. And to be honest, I think karate is weird.

So when they came home from school all excited about the month long after school program that cost only $30 and included a free uniform, we decided we could handle that. The best part, Dallen got to do it too!

So, for the month of February, twice a week, for an hour and a half, we went to karate. Boy am I glad it's over! That was way too much of a time committment for me, but the boys loved it. Here are some pictures of the final day when they tested for their white belts:

Breaking a board? Probably the coolest thing they have ever done. They were on cloud nine about that for a while.

Happy Birthday Mr. President

I like days off from school. I like it that my boys had a Monday in February off from school for President's day. Thank you Presidents for being born.

It hasn't snowed much in Utah this winter. Probably less than 6 inches total where we live. But when it snowed the Sunday before President's day Nathan and I made a plan...sledding and lunch at DQ on the day off. But then by Sunday afternoon the snow had melted.

Looking to the base of the mountains in the distance, I saw snow and we decided to try driving to the park at the foot of the mountains and just see what happened.

When we pulled up we noticed tons of cars, tons of people and SNOW!

Now remember, we left Wisconsin when Nathan was barely 5, Jack was barely 3 and Dallen was about 7 months. So, Dallen has never sledded, Jack has but doesn't remember it, and Nathan only barely remembers it.

Sheer joy is what they experienced. Here's Jack's first run:

Doesn't that picture just say it all?

Mr. Daredevil went down the big hill and the big jump face first well before his brothers were even ready for the big hill:

I called to Nathan to be careful of the trees at the bottom of the hill. When he got back to the top he told me to say it to him in scientific terms next time. I can't remember exactly how he worded it but it something to do with "results could be fatal."

This is how Adam spent most of his time:

Proof that I was there. And yes, I took a few runs while the boys watched the baby:

My Secret Project

For a long time I have wanted to hop on the crafty blog bandwagon. And now I have done it.

Secretly I have been working on this for a long time and truthfully I still have more to do to have it totally up and running, but I think I am ready to reveal my:

I actually hired someone to design it for me because I wanted it to look nice. And I love how it turned out.

So far I only have 6 posts but I have many more in the works. I am doing crafting, recipes, home decor, refinishing, stuff I do with my kids, sewing, whatever.

I really just wanted a creative outlet and thought this might work for me. This way I can make all my crazy things and have somewhere to post about them.

PLUS, I plan to do a lot of giveaways. As in, I make something, I post about it, I give it away because heaven knows I love to sew little girl's stuff and have nothing to do with it but pass it on.

So, anyway, you can see it here if you are interested: http://crazylittleprojects.blogspot.com/

What I would REALLY love is if you could fan me on facebook (there's a button on the right side column. All you have to do is click LIKE) or pin some of my posts so that I start to look like I have followers. You don't really have to follow me if you don't want to, just pretend you are interested. :)

Anyway, I am excited for this crazy venture. And maybe a little bit obsessed. I have a hard time getting things out of my brain once they are in there. My mom and my husband can probably testify of that.
